Slain Model Starlet Wahu to be Buried Today

24-year-old slain Instagram model Starlet Wahu Mwangi is set to be buried today at her parents’ home in Kamulu, Kasarani Sub-County.

Ms. Wahu was found brutally murdered inside a rented Airbnb at Papino apartment in South B, a police report adding that the deceased was ‘skillfully’ murdered by slicing a key vein in the human body.

An autopsy report from City Mortuary further revealed that Wahu was also strangled.

“Maybe he is a serial killer, because he skillfully sliced a vein that pumps blood to the heart. It’s also not clear why they had to test for HIV and still yet, use protection during intercourse,” police say.

Among the items retrieved from the scene of crime included a used HIV testing kit, a used condom, sticks of weed, liquor, Wahu’s clothes and inner wears, the police saying the model and her killer must have engaged in intimacy before the fatal incident.

The suspect, John Matara, 30, was later tracked by DCI to Mbagathi Hospital where he was found receiving treatment for knife wounds, police trying to investigate whether the cuts were self inflicted or defensive.

He is currently being detained at the Industrial Area Police Station for the next 21 days as detectives continue to investigate the matter.

“I am heartbroken, she was doing so well in life. We last met on Christmas, and on December 31, we spent time together at home. We had not seen the man before.

We learnt about him after her death. This is so tragic for us, the family, and even her friends. May her soul rest in peace,” Pastor Kanyari, Wahu’s brother has said.
