Vanessa Ogema, Nairobi Women’s Hospital College (NWHC) student who aggressively abused nurses at Port Victoria Hospital in Busia County earlier this week has surrendered to the police. Vanessa walked into Busia Police Station on Sunday afternoon masked and hooded, accompanied by two people.
Vanessa in a viral video, was seen creating havoc inside the health facility, hurling abuses at nurses, scattering stationery and kicking equipment while demanding service for her patient. Together with a yet to be identified male, the two left a trail of destruction and fear within the hospital.
The facility has since been closed following a protest by nurses who demand action taken against Vanessa. During the dramatic attack, property was destroyed in the process, including stationery and an oxygen concentrator.
Vanessa’s school on Thursday also initiated investigations into the matter to gather all relevant information which will aid in taking appropriate action in line with the institution’s policies and procedures.
