10 security bouncers who last week assaulted journalists and officials from National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) have today been presented in court to answer to the charge.
They have also been accused of selling and promoting the use shisha, a banned substance in Kenya.
They all pleaded not guilty and have been released, each on a KSH. 30,000 cash bail. The matter is now set for mentioning on January 24, 2024.
A warrant of arrest has been issued against 10 others who failed to appear in court to take plea.
PS: The bouncers last Friday, descended on journalists derived from multiple media houses including Nation Media, Standard Group and KBC who had accompanied NACADA officials in a raid at Kettle House which has been flagged for continuously selling shisha.
