A man has been arrested and charged with fraudulently obtaining credit worth KSH. 466,965 at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites, a high-end facility in Nairobi’s Westlands area.
This is after Leaven Namayi Lubanga traveled from Homa Bay to meet a woman in Nairobi in a bid to spend the New Year in style. He says his guest had committed to settle all the hotel bills.
He checked into the aforementioned facility but the woman was a no show. He remained at the posh serviced apartments for at least 11 days, dining and enjoying the good things in life.
The hotel’s management called police on him on 11 January after confirming Mr. Lubanga was unable to settle the bill and had run out of excuses.
He was presented in court but again failed to present a KSH. 400,000 bond for his freedom. He is currently being detained at Industrial Area Prison until he secures his release.
