Pilots of an All Nippon Airways (ANA) flight from Tokyo, Japan, flying to Seattle in the U.S. were forced to cut short the journey and fly back to Japan after a highly intoxicated male passenger bit the arm of a female crew member.
The ANA flight, Flight 118, which had onboard 159 passengers had taken off at 9:47PM local time and was headed to Seattle before it diverted back to Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan after an hour in the air.
The 55-year-old male passenger was detained by police immediately the plane landed back in the Japanese capital. When questioned, the drunk man told the police he couldn’t remember doing anything like that as he was sleeping all through the flight.
The female flight attendant sustained minor injuries. The plane was rescheduled for another departure after 20 hours.
