Police in Fort Worth, Texas, are investigating an incident where Christantus Omondi, a 27-year-old Kenyan man killed a delivery truck driver by striking him repeatedly on the head using firewood. According to a police report, Omondi was naked at the time of the incident.
Court papers say the truck driver identified as Scott Jackson had been instructed by a homeowner who stays next to an apartment where Omondi lives in, to deliver some firewood. The Kenyan is said to have brutally descended on Jackson and the homeowner, accusing them of trespass.
He hit the delivery man repeatedly, killing him on the spot.
The homeowner was able to escape the attack but with minor injuries as the suspect also struck him with firewood at least once. Fort Worth Police say the homeowner ran into his home to call emergency responders about the violent ambush, adding that Omondi was acting belligerent and extremely violent.
After the brutal attack, Omondi went back to the Airbnb he lives in and threatened another tenant. Police arrested him after an aggressive encounter with officers that escalated to using a taser.
The suspect is now in police custody at the Fort Worth Police Jail and charged with murder.
