National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has issued an update on how to apply for reflective number plates, as most applicants are battling ‘Internal Server Error’ on the eCitizen website.
The step-by-step guide by NTSA shows how motorists can make the application via their personal accounts on eCitizen. This is after TIMS portal was scrapped by the authority and all services migrated to eCitizen.
STEP 1: Log into eCitizen, select NTSA Service Portal (New) then select the motor vehicle and click on view.
STEP 2: Click motor vehicle services then reflective plate. Select plate type and counter collection fee. Attach the required documents in one PDF format.
STEP 3: Scroll down and tick the declaration box then click preview. Submit to pay for reflective plate and click complete.
Once the plates are ready for collection, a notification will be sent via SMS. The timeline is 7 working days, NTSA says.
Single reflective number plate costs KSH. 1,550 while a pair costs KSH. 3,050.
