Two Nigerian nationals, William Ovie Opia and JohnBull Asibor, linked to Rita Waeni’s murder arrested in a rented apartment in Ndenderu area in Kiambu County.
A hatchet, butcher knife, 6 mobile phones and laptops were recovered from their residence at the time of their arrest. They told the police they purchased the hatchet for ‘personal protection’.
Detectives also say they were in Kenya illegally. Ovie was found to be in possession of an expired passport, while his partner, Asibor, casually claimed to have lost his last year.
The duo lived close to where a human head believed to be that of murdered student Rita Waeni was on Sunday found dumped.
The main suspect captured on CCTV camera is however still at large. Police are still continuing with investigations.
