The rift between Nakuru County Senator Tabitha Karanja and Governor Susan Kihika seems to widen each day, following their fallout mid 2023.
The Senator is now urging Members of County Assembly (MCAs) in Nakuru to table an impeachment motion against Governor Kihika for her removal from office.
Senator Karanja says the Governor has failed to demonstrate effective leadership skills, leading to wrangles between the Nakuru County Government and the management of the Nakuru War Memorial Hospital.
She adds that medical care is an essential service that if not properly managed, can easily lead to loss of lives.
“As Nakuru people, we call upon our MCAs to draw an impeachment motion regarding the governor’s conduct and ethics, failure to do so, we as Nakuru people will compel them to do so by following Article One of the constitution,” she says.
Further, Senator Karanja accuses the Governor of going against multiple court orders and forming ‘illegal’ policies in the County of Nakuru.
