The Government through the Interior Ministry has declared Paul Mackenzie’s Good News International Ministries church an organized criminal group.
According to a Gazette Notice dated 31 January 2024 seen by BRK, the declaration takes effect immediately.
According to the Kenyan Constitution (CoK), a person found to be part of or engages in any organized criminal activity or group is liable to a fine not exceeding KSH. 5M or imprisonment of up to 15 years upon conviction.
The Act further allows a group declared an organized criminal setting to appeal for an amendment of the decision within 21 days after the declaration is made.
