A report from the Public Service reveals public servants made away with at least KSH. 605.1M in the financial year ending June 2023, giving a glance into the billions of shillings pocketed by state officers without a trace.
The report further says another KSH. 222M stolen by public servants was recovered, these, being monies pocketed through corrupt deals and illegal charges in Government offices.
In total in the last three years, the report says at least KSH. 2.05B has been lost in the public service, this representing only cases in court and figures confirmed.
According to Public Service Commission, the finding is based on only a-third of public servants, approximately 250,000. In total, PSC has at least 750,000 officers.
