The Meteorological Department has confirmed a heat wave currently being experienced in most parts the country, saying it might last at least the next one week.
The weatherman in a forecast seen by BRK, reports that some areas in the country including Kajiado, Bungoma, Turkana, Samburu and a large section of Eastern Kenya, could experience high daytime temperatures of up to 36°C.
Other areas including Nairobi, Kisii, Kakamega, Makueni, Laikipia, Kitui and Taita Taveta could experience high daytime temperatures of up to 30°C.
According to the forecast, cooler areas in the country currently include Tharaka Nithi, Nakuru, Nyeri, Trans Nzoia and Meu, which have highs of less than 20°C.
The above forecast is for the period between today, 20 February and 26 February.
