Detectives derived from the DCI unit have arrested three robbery suspects reported to have abducted, stripped naked and robbed a pastor of his phone and cash on Thursday night around Nyayo National Stadium.
Bernard Mbunga Mbusu, Alphonce Munyau and Samuel Musembi were arrested at their respective residents in Syokimau, Kitengela and Athi River.
The victim, a pastor at the Christ Church, was heading for dinner after spending a whole day planning for the Benny Hinn crusade set to be held at the Nyayo Stadium, when three men accosted him and bundled him in a waiting saloon car.
Once in the car, the pastor was stripped naked and photos of him taken before the suspects forced him to reveal his M-PESA pin, lest the photos be uploaded on his social media platforms.
The pastor under duress, complied and a sum of KSh. 55,000 was transferred to one of the suspect’s phone and thereafter he was released.
Upon their arrest, multiple handsets have been recovered, including a PDQ bank card swapping machine.
The three are being held at Langata Police Station pending arraignment on Monday.
