Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has called out Israeli-born American-Canadian televangelist Benny Hinn for using a state function funded by the Government to give one sided views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In what appeared to be taking a side in the conflict which has got global attention, Benny Hinn is being called out for using a state function to allegedly show his support for Israel.
“It is wrong to give an Israeli preacher an opportunity to give one sided views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on National TV and in such a quasi State function.
Kenya continues to call for a cessation of hostilities even as we show solidarity with Israel over the October 7th terror attacks. Kenya supports the rights of Palestinian people for self determination,” says CS Kuria.
The televangelist was born in Jaffa, in 1952, in the then newly established state of Israel to parents born in Palestine who had Greek, Palestinian and Armenian heritage.
He was raised within the Eastern Orthodox tradition and baptized by the patriarch of Jerusalem.
