Media personality Ciru Muriuki remembers actor Charles Ouda in a heartfelt message, exactly one month after his sudden demise.
“One month without you. One month of pain I didn’t think was possible. You were my favorite hello, and my hardest goodbye. But there can never be goodbyes between us. Just the longing to see you again. My life will forever be better because you were in it. I love you Ceej. Forever and always,” reads Ciru’s message.
Ciru’s love story with Charlie took her by surprise, she admitted.
“I’d just lost my dad and I was still trying to navigate the enormity of that loss. So he and I began a friendship that later had some benefits. After sometime it was clear that there was something between us that was completely undeniable,” she said in her tribute during Charlie’s burial service back in February.
A tearful Ciru added that as she nearly hits 42, she has never been loved as Charlie loved her.
“It wasn’t about the grand gestures, it was about the comfort, the easy intimacy and a wonderful silly friendship between us. Let me tell you, we gossiped most of you people in this room. It was such a big beautiful love,” Ciru explained while fighting tears.
On the night Charlie asked to marry her, she says she was wearing his t-shirt and some torn leggings, adding that it remains the most beautiful night of her life.
The actor’s passing on left a wave of disbelief within Kenya’s film industry and those who knew him, as he was full of life the day he sadly died.
