The US Embassy in Kenya has issued a security alert on increased criminal activities in residential areas within Nairobi such as purse and phone snatching.
A statement released by the Embassy seen by BRK, advices Americans in the country to keep a low profile, be aware of their surroundings. avoid showing signs of wealth and while in traffic, keeping vehicle doors locked and windows up.
In addition, the Embassy advices US nationals not to physically resist any robbery attempt and remain calm as confronting such criminals might lead to violence.
“The Government of Kenya is taking measures to place more police in high crime areas,” the statement says.
