A businessman is pursuing Apple legally after his wife discovered ratchet messages he had sent sex workers, texts he says he is sure he deleted. He claims that Apple’s lack of transparency about the deleted messages has led to his wife filing for divorce.
The middle-aged man from England, through his attorney, has explained that messages he had sent multiple sex-workers, which he thought he had deleted, were found by his wife on the family’s iMac computer.
“If you are told a message is deleted, you are entitled to believe it’s deleted. My thoughts are that if I had been able to talk to her rationally and she had not had such a brutal realization of it, I might still be married,” he says.
He is now seeking over $5 million in damages from Apple for the financial losses incurred from his divorce and legal expenses.
