An early morning accident around Choma Choma Lounge in Kisii town has left at least eight people dead after the driver of a lorry lost control, veered off the highway, and rammed into the parking lot of the nightclub, killing at least four people on the spot.
The fatal accident happened around 4AM, shortly after Ohangla star Prince Indah had just wrapped up his performance at the nightclub. A witness at the scene tells BRK that after losing control, the truck swept multiple vehicles that were still at Choma Choma Lounge’s parking area.
Those killed include one of Prince Indah’s security staff, and revellers who were about to go home after Friday’s night out. Also killed are the truck driver, his co-driver and a policeman who was on sight. Several others were rushed to hospital, where at least three others have been confirmed dead at the time of publishing this post.
At least seven others remain admitted in nearby hospitals.
