30-year-old Julius Gacheru Wangari, alias Chris, who has been impersonating popular journalists and scamming unsuspecting high-level personalities, has been arrested in the Zambezi area of Kikuyu in Kiambu County. A police report seen by BRK confirms the arrest, following multiple cases of the suspect fraudulently receiving money from guests hosted at Standard Media Group’s Spice FM and Royal Media’s Citizen TV. It’s reported that before his arrest, Gacheru communicated with guests who had attended interviews at local media stations and impersonated the hosts, requesting a tip for the live sessions and to promote their stories further. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Asher Wray makes a historic visit to DCI Headquarters in Kenya, his first visit to the country since his appointment in 2017. Wray, who’s the 8th FBI Chief, has met high-ranking government officials and several national security and law enforcement heads in the country, holding meetings that focused on strengthening bilateral security and investigative cooperation. Director Wray’s delegation comprised other dignitaries from FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC, and the US Embassy in Nairobi.
Jamaican reggae artist Glenroy (Glen) Washington will be making a return to Kenya this October for the Africa Bound Reggae Summerfest 2024 concert, an event scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 19, at the KICC grounds. Raina Nancy Chassagne, the wife of Tory Lanez, 31, has filed for divorce, less than a year after the rapper being jailed. Chassagne lists their date of marriage as June 25, 2023, and the date of their separation as June 1, 2024. Tory Lanez and Chassagne have a 7-year-old son, of whom the latter is seeking legal and physical custody, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce filing. The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has taken a family to court over an unpaid KSh3 million bill, which, according to the medical facility, is a small fraction of the total treatment cost. The hospital, in court papers, argues that the condition of the minor patient, who was admitted to the facility in February 2021 with severe TB meningitis, has since stabilised but is yet to be discharged or transferred to another facility.
