The latest On-Time Performance Review report by giant aviation analytics company Cirium has ranked national carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) Africa’s second most efficient airline of 2023.

The annual review report seen by BRK, reveals that KQ attained a 71.86% on-time arrival rate from the 41,905 flights the airline completed in 2023, out of which, Cirium tracked 86.13%.

The first position in Africa has been taken by Safair, an airline based at the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park, South Africa. Safair had an On-Time Arrival rate of 92.36% from its 55,444 flights completed in 2023.

An on-time arrival rate is determined by a flight that arrives within 15-minutes of the scheduled gate arrival.

“The high rankings result from Kenya Airways’ persistent focus and delivery of on-time performance each month of the year, which has been a cornerstone of improving our guest experience strategy.

This is a testament to our commitment to improving our on-time performance and our dedication to implementing real improvements on board,” says Allan Kilavuka, CEO Kenya Airways.
