A gang of machete wielding robbers on Wednesday night raided Karibaribi Secondary School in Thika, hacked to death a security guard before carting away at least 16 laptops beloning to the institution.
Another guard sustained serious deep cuts on the head and is currently fighting for his life in a nearby hospital.
The gang broke all doors in the administration block of the school which is located about 100M from Karibaribi Police Station.
The school’s community has blamed the police for failing to act swiftly as they believe the robbers took their time inside the school to execute the crime.
“What we have seen here is terrible. Those people had all the time to do what they came to do. Yet the police station is just a neighboring compound,” a witness has told the media, Thursday morning..
No arrest has been made following the incident.
